The foremost difference between dry needling and acupuncture is the existence of energy, qi and the beliefs of yin and yang. Whereas dry needling is based on western medicine, implementing current research based treatments with the knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology. However, there are many similarities regarding needling sites between the two.
